Yes, you can manage, I am basing this on the fact you ''speak'' multiple languages
already, which are unrelated. Thus, you have been exposed to several grammatical paradigms, even if you
are rusty with those languages.

I have personally managed intensive German and Portuguese (which you can easily switch to mean
represent Italian), and have learned quite a lot. I do find that some days I focus more on one language than
the other, and then swing back.
if you don't understand a lot, just LISTEN. It does wonders.

My German is at a B2 level but I still have not decided to claim I speak it. But I will shortly (end of the
month).

Thank you! I needed an answer like this! I have studied Hindi for eight years, Sanskrit for four and Swedish
for a couple of years. I'm going to take the challenge and do the advanced German course next
term.

Thanks again.

And as for German, I don't claim to speak it, I guess I put it into the wrong section- I wasn't actively studying
it when I last edited my profile.

Ok, I wasn't trying to put you on the spot but since you mentioned your German level I thought you might have been overly enthusiastic. I am sure you will get there soon.

Just remember to not get frustrated if some days you are ''off''. It happens. I have found that I get into a few ''off days'', and then they are always followed by a period where I learn a lot and understand more when I listen in that language.

There is no way I can claim to speak German! :) I need reading knowledge of German for my masters in
Historical Linguistics. I know those off days. I had a lot of them when I did Sanskrit back in school.
As for reading practice, I'm halfway through Der kleine Lord ( Little Lord Founterley) at the moment. I love
the German version!

I have been wondering about these CEFR level exams (A2, B1, etc). Are there testing centres in the UK? What does the test involve? And is it costly?
