Hey guys! My plan is to start a bimonthly Swedish log, starting in January. I'll try and be regular with my posting and such. I just started Swedish a couple weeks ago and I enjoy the language very much, it feels so easy after all the intensive Spanish I've done.
So here's basically the rundown of things:

Materials: Speaking Swedish course
                           http://sv.wikipedia.org
                           A reliable Swedish Dictonary

I know that I don't have very much materials, I'll get my hands on some more later on.

Goals: I plan on having a strong A2 level by summer, so I plan on studying around 6 hours a week. Hey I still have Spanish I have to work on!

I look forward to reading your Swedish log! I'm studying Danish on Team Å, and I am also planning to spend a lot of time reading Scandinavian history in 2011.

I'm off to a very strong start. Here I go with my first 5 hours logged, not bad huh?
I understand en and ett, have memorized basic phrases and am starting to muck around with pronouns.

Week 1 (Dec 27 - Jan 3)- 5 hours

A great start indeed! Congrats!

(BTW, I went to see the Swedish film Luftslottet som sprängdes / The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest over the weekend. Only a week into studying Danish, I was already able to get a little sense of the difference in the sound of Swedish as compared to Danish.)

I'm giving on Swedish for a bit until April, I have a language camp for Mandarin for free and my personal motto is I never give on a good oppurtunity to try a language. I'll be writing back soon

OK, this was the weakest TAC performance ever, but I was honestly swamped with languages. So to make good on my last post I ordered Teach Yourself Danish and switched from Swedish because I have Danish friends and want to practice with them. I'll record my progress in about a week and tell you all how Teach Yourself is going.
(If your wondering Mandarin worked out well and I plan to continue at a later date.)

My teach yourself Danish is excellent, and even better than my Welsh one, which I enjoy immensely. I'm really pumped and have just finished Unit one. After all these 'hard' languages I've been working on, Danish is just like a breath of fresh Germanic air!

Hours spent so far: 2

well, I think it is great that you switched to Danish. You are motivating me to help revive our little Team Å! I don't have the Teach Yourself Danish, but maybe I can order it. I've been using Hippocrene Beginner's Series and some other miscellaneous resources.
