A new round of TAC has started! New Teammates, new languages, and new resources. What more could I ask for? So first off, just want to say Hi to my new teammates for this year: amber5499, Kerrie, and tennisace. I know we're going to have a really productive year. The most productive time I've had with languages was when I was doing Team TAC last year, so hopefully we all make it to the finish line having completed our ambitious goals!
For this year I'm studying three languages:
Spanish- I have multiple years of experience in this language. I am at a B2 level (I think. I need to actually take the test...) and I hope to make it to C1 by the end of year. Sometime in my future I hope to have a major in Spanish and potentially teach English in a Spanish speaking country, so I have more than enough incentive to study hard for this language. For studying, I have anki, 600 Spanish verbs (a book with verb conjugations), Spanish grammar, trying to make a dent in Garcia Marquez collection and I'll be watching Fisica o Quimica (sorry for lack of accents, my computer isn't behaving right now). I'm also enrolled in a college course for Spanish that will allow to take advanced courses next spring semester.
Catalan- I fell in love with the language last year after I was searching the internet for Spanish shows. I ended up finding a catalan show called El Cor de la Ciutat and watched every episode online that had English subtitles. I just bought a Teach Yourself catalan course which I hope will at least allow me to get to a B1 or B2 level by the end of the year. Considering that catalan grammar and many words are extremely similar to Spanish (even if they're different in many important ways), I think I can learn a good portion of the language by the end of the year. Hopefully I can finally finish the series of my favorite show in the original catalan :P
Language X- Language X represents any language I happen to learn on Sunday. I have the most terrible case of Wanderlust and my doctors still have found no cure. I never stick with languages for too long without seeing a new language that seems like the most interesting thing in the world. Why are there such great languages in the world? But to try and make sure I stick with Spanish and catalan, I'm giving myself one day a week (which I chose to be sunday) to pursue any other language I want. It could happen that for two sundays in a row I'll study Hungarian, all of February's sundays could be spent on Dutch, or I my just switch every week to a completely new language. Regardless, I'll entertain my wanderlust for one day so it won't interefere with my studies for the rest of the week. Hopefully that's enough to keep my wanderlust from sabotaging my studies.

Hello, Icaria! I think most of us are around the same level, so it will be fun to support and encourage each other throughout the year. I'm also aiming for C1 by the end of the year with my Spanish.
¡Buena suerta este año!

This is so cool that we're all about the same level in Spanish. During my last year's TAC my teammates were more concerned with German and Russian than Spanish, so we didn't add to each other's study as much as we could have. We're definitely going to finish this year at C1.

First Update:
Spanish- Today I continued working on Basic Spanish by Barlow. It's a really old book (it lists that the Spanish alphabet still includes 'ch' as a seperate letter), but I've been using it to refresh my Spanish before I go back to school because it doesn't take too much effort to go through the lessons. Besides, it keeps introducing grammar and lessons using a lot of Spanish dialogues which I find extremely helpful. Just flipping through the chapters, by chapter 15 everything written is in Spanish. I'm just running through one chapter a day. Today I just finished the Repaso for the first five lessons. I'll probably finish the book by the end of my winter vacation.
Català- I've spent the last few days just reviewing pronounciation. I was a little surprised to find that catalan pronounciation is so different from Spanish (and that they have grave marks...) I'm mostly annotating my Teach Yourself Catalan book and listening to the tape. I want to make sure my pronounciation of words is pretty solid before I start the lessons. In fact, that was what tripped me up the most with Russian. I'm also trying to force my brain to adjust to hearing catalan instead of Spanish so I've been playing my favorite catalan band -la sopa de cabra while I've been snowboarding all day (I'm on vacation right now :D).
That's good enough for a first post. Besides, I have to study my book about the French-Algerian War for classes next semester (arghhh....).

I've just spent the day collecting some of the materials I'm going to use this year. Here's all of the materials I'm using or plan on using throughout the year:
For Catalan I have the following resources:
1. Teach Yourself Catalan
2. http://www.intercat.cat/en/eina.jsp?id=speakcat
This is a site where they offer beginner catalan courses online.
3. http://www.parla.cat (I recommend the free courses without the tutor).
4. http://www.tv3.cat/pprogrames/elcordelaciutat/corSeccio.jsp I watch this series as a way to listen to catalan being spoken in everyday situations and they have good storylines :)
5. http://www.catradio.cat/ a good radio station
6. http://www.avui.cat/abrera/nacional.html a good newspapaer
Spanish:
1. http://www.antena3.com/series/fisica-o-quimica/ Here's a series I watch. So far I've watched it mostly in subtitles from youtube but I'm trying to watch the rest in just Spanish.
2. Basic Spanish by Barlow
3. Los Imperios del Mundo Atlántico por J.H. Elliott He's my favorite historian who publishes in both Spanish and English about the British and Spanish Empires. I'm reading some of his English books right now as well, although that doesn't really have to do with my Spanish studies lol.
4. Teach Yourself: Quick Fix Spanish Grammar by Keith Chambers. It's always a great reference guide for all my grammar problems.
5. http://www.spanishdict.com/ a good reference dictionary with verb conjugation charts.
6. http://www.elmundo.es/ a good newspaper
7. And I have a college course where I'm finishing up my intermediate Spanish studies and will start on advanced cources the following year.
Well, there's some of resources. I'll probably find more things to add over the following year. I hope others find these as useful as I do.

I've been studying from Teach Yourself Catalan. I've mostly studied word liason today as well as start on basic greetings. It's very similar to Spanish, and it's not too difficult to remember.
I spent my time constructing a new Spanish anki deck made up of Spanish verbs. some Studying occured but not as much as I had hoped for the first day of the year. More tomorrow.

Hey Icaria909. I was traded to the Italian Team (Viva l'Italia!), but I'm still
going to follow your studies. I think your plan to devote Sunday to your language
wanderlust is a great idea... I might have to consider doing that myself! You mentioned
that you snowboard (I don't), but when I was in Andorra in the summer, the mountains
looked great! Perhaps that would be a great place for you to practice your snowboarding,
Catalan and Spanish!
Bona sort amb el català i espanyol!
Edit: text formatting looked funny.
