Inspired by another thread, I was just curious has anyone ever used this program. If so, is it any good? I have the Teach Yourself Czech by David Short which is ok but it definitely leaves something to be desired.
Also there is no CEFR noted so I am curious to know what level it will take you to.

I have used it. I probably read the book three times, and listened to each lesson 50
times. I think it is a wonderful course for letting the language "sink in" and for
getting you more confident at listening and speaking. It is a great follow on course
after the TY course.
Having taken the A1 through (pre-release) C1 exams in Czech, I would estimate that the
assimil course can help you get to around a B1 level.

Instead of giving you a direct link, I'll link to my long-forgotten thread which wasn't
exactly a hit. There are some great reviews of assimil in French there. I assume it's not
a problem since you want to use a French-based textbook.

Thanks Kubelek, that is very helpful. I have knowledge of some French but it is very limited but I have been planning on tackling it next since Assimil is my favorite program and the majority of their courses are in French.
