My friend is eagerly seeking classical Greek learners with whom he can exchange emails in classical Greek. If anyone is interested, please PM me for my friend's email address. If any of your friends is also interested in classical Greek, please do PM me as well. Thanks for dropping by!

I'd be interested in having some sort of weekly class via Skype in classic Greek, if your friend is up for it.

Does he want to write letters in Ancient Greek? This may be possible if he is not mainly interested in discussing computer technology. But it is hard, because there is no established tradition of Neo-Greek as it is the case with Neo-Latin.
I mean, Andrew Wilson needed a whole year of intensive work to write "Ἃρειος Ποτῆρ καὶ ἡ τοῦ φιλοσόφου λίθος" and this was the first composition of a longer text in the language of Plato since more than thousand years.
Could you give a sample? I woθld be delighted to read it

I studied ancient Greek for five years at the secondary school. I really love it and I am still able to read it decently. Ancient Greeks throughout the world unite!

Thank you all for your replies! It's so lovely to hear from people who show interest in classical Greek, though it's my friend who learns it, not I. Here is a text he has recently written in Greek, upon reading your replies:

I'd appreciate it if someone takes the time to translate it for me, as I have no idea what it's about. Thank you! Hope to hear from you again!

Not related to the question asked here. I always wonder, whether there're significant number of native Greek people learning classical Greek. Or, are there more non-Greeks than Greeks nowadays learning classical Greek? Native Greeks definitely have a lower learning curve however different their ancient language is.

And the English have a step ahead when it comes to Old English. Nonetheless, I know one person who knows Old English, and he's originally from Russia (grew up in CA).

This is, what it says: (the result of my translation may not be perfect, because I translate from one foreign language to another one)

"You are asking me questions, which I may not answer briefly, nonetheless I will try not to have the appeareance of a rustic to you, of someone, who does not know, what is beautiful. And firstly I am going to ask you, why you think the writing of Wilson to be a masterpiece. If he, when he made trips through the English language, found inspiration alone in this book, that is difficult and cumbersome to translate into Greek, because of its excess of nonsense, what do we care? But if Harry Potter and so on will be the measure of Greek education or of authorship, what will we be able, when we have become phrase mongers, to say more about things worthy of mention, after we have been educated by Quiddish or Hogwarts or any other such thing, what will be our profit? And indeed we will not only be speaking nonsense by being busy with these useless things, and by ruining at the same time our lives, but will make us ridiculed by pointing to the fact, that we are fools and dummies. This be for you an example, by which you will measure my artfulness. And fare-thee-well; I whish you the best luck, in whatever you want"
