I just read this in the NYT this morning and I wonder how long it will take before we see "Studies: Ancient Akkadian" under someone's language profile and demands for Assimil to produce: "L'akkadien ancien sans peine": Ancient Mesopotamian Dictionary
Here's the first paragraph: "Ninety years in the making, the 21-volume dictionary of the language of ancient Mesopotamia and its Babylonian and Assyrian dialects, unspoken for 2,000 years but preserved on clay tablets and in stone inscriptions deciphered over the last two centuries, has finally been completed by scholars at the University of Chicago." -John Noble Wilford, NYT, June 6, 2011 1 person has voted this message useful | |
