I was wondering if anyone could suggest some apps I can get to help learn Spanish on my iPad. I'm not necessarily looking for a course or anything like that but rather any tools that would help, like dictionaries, flashcards, etc.
For example, I just installed an app "El Norte" that has news from Mexico which I will try to read, but I was thinking it would be nice to be able to look up words that I don't know. But, if I search for "spanish dictionary", I get 100+ matches. Perhaps someone can suggest a particular one that would help me while trying to read news.
Also, any other app suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Derek

I use an iTouch, so I can't speak to iPad-specific apps, but I like Collins DioDict dictionary because it gives useful examples and the ability to add the word you look up to a flashcard set. (It's a basic read-and-flip type of flashcard program, no SRS or anything like that.)
I'm also using Conjugation Nation. It's just a program that lets you practice conjugation. It does keep a history, so you can review what you got right or wrong.(It doesn't allow you to answer with accents though. If you answer without but have spelled the word correctly, you get it correct.)
I also like ANKI very much. I'm anxious to see what kind of result I can have with this over the long term.
The only other Spanish learning thing I do on my itouch for is listen to podcasts. I really like News in Slow Spanish, Think Spanish (paid) and Veinte Mundos. All have interesting topics (mostly) and useful vocabulary.

A good free flash card program for iphone/ipad (i have an iphone) is "flashcardlet", it lets you import quizlet decks.
