Considering a language easy or difficult is even a subjective concept.
Seeing (hearing) a language beautiful or ugly is the most subjective aspect.
In this case when a person insults my native language i simply don't care.
It's the ignorance of him/her and i leave him/her alone with his/her unawareness.

I think it's necessary not to confuse insulting a language with insulting the people
who happen to speak that language. I don't care what anyone thinks of the languages I
speak or study. There are certain languages I don't like, such as Spanish -after having
been forced to study it for several years in school. But that doesn't mean I have any
less respect for Spanish culture, or that of any country where the language is spoken.
Once people don't cross that line, I don't think it matters what they think about a
language. I love Arabic, but I know a lot of very reasonable people just don't like the
sound of it, which is fine.
Of course it is moronic when people assume that you are a Nazi when you speak German,
or they put on a fake Chinese accent when you say you study Japanese, but they are
really only making themselves look idiotic. It doesn't bother me any more than any
other form of stupidity.

It vexes me when English is insulted and treated as an ugly language that people have no choice but to learn, especially when people make it clear they find no pleasure in it.
It's a very beautiful language that i feel is spoilt by so many non-native speakers.

Oh great, now I'll get hungry every time I remember that joke.
Nice blog by the way, and I can totally relate to that "no justification for learning" post.

I don't give a damn for what others think about my mother language.

I have honestly never heard anyone insult my language. :o
I find it strange. Hopefully I will meet someone who hates it soon, would be interesting to learn why.

When people insult English, I couldn't care less, and I may even join in on the insults, though ironically it's usually a discussion in English.
When people insult Korean, I try to defend it to a certain extent, but it really depends on how outrageous the comments are. Sometimes I agree.
When people insult Japanese, I join in, but that doesn't happen often since most people seem to think Japanese is a beautiful language.
When people insult Mongolian... hasn't happened yet but I still hold the opinion that it's the coolest language I've ever heard. :D
