Derek Flint was communicating with dolphins decades ago!

In fact, dolphins are the second most intelligent species on the planet. White mice are
first, and humans come in a rather distant third.

If dolphins are so smart, why do they live in igloos?

You see, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than
dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all
the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But
conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than
man—for precisely the same reasons.

You are all forgetting the common dog, the only animal intelligent enough (at least in cities with stoop-n-scoop legislation) to train humans to pick up their pooh.

Dolphins are also said to have sex for pleasure. Maybe they're the "humans" of the animal kingdom.

For some reason, I've always imagined that humans were the humans of the animal kingdom.

Dolphins are mammals, not fish. Perhaps the fish are smarter because they always travel in schools. Of course whales also travel in schools but that is considered to be a University of Whales, which is reported to be a quite well respected academic institution in the UK.

Unfortunately, you'll have to make do with "Dauphinois sans peine" since no English course will be available.

Actually I've read that the common dog is far more skilled than any other animal when it comes to reading and interpreting human body language, non verbal cues and social behavior. Which I suppose would make sense, given dogs are domesticated and have been bred by humans for many generations.
