Kuikentje, thanks for the detailed response. It makes good sense. Leosmith, it's OK that you have a sufficiently low self-confidence that you have to bash others and just be mean. I didn't know that the asterisk or "speaks" sh*t means that you're fluent. I have a life and don't spend all my time on this forum to know that from the start. So, please learn to accept others and not wait for every flaw and jump at the opportunity to discourage another language learner.

I have made phone calls in a number of languages - especially before I could make hotel reservations over the internet and things like that. But as Kuikentje I don't like telephones. Speaking in a telephone means that you put yourself in the position of a totally blind and halfdeaf person with a speech impairment. It may be useful in the same way as lifting iron can be useful for athletes, but I can't see how it could be fun.
