On the other hand... once someone's started to speak English I think to some extent it 'breaks the spell' and unless their English is hopeless it can feel awkward going back to the other language. I find that it doesn't happen that often so I don't worry about it too much. I'll say it again... if it's happening constantly then you must be in the wrong neighbourhood... or in Sweden or Finland or somewhere like that...
