I'm sure this has been asked multiple times already in different ways, but weirdly, I couldn't find an answer to my question and I guess it always feels better when someone answers directly. So, I'm very interested in learning French. I'm looking for a textbook (best with Audio) for a complete beginner like me, who has no idea about French. I'd like textbook to be focusing mainly on grammar explained very nicely and indepth with low to medium vocabulary. Hope I'm not very picky. If there's some decent software, it would be nice, too. Any tips? Looking forward to your answers. :)

The "Living Language Ultimate" package (beginner - intermediate) is a possibility. The text explains grammar topics
incrementally, revisiting each topic several times as needed. It contains written grammar exercises with each
chapter plus review exercises every 5 lessons. There are two sets of audio lessons provided, one that goes with the
textbook and another which is independent audio which can be listened to while driving or something.
I used this package several years ago but if starting over I would supplement it with Assimil which has much less
focus on grammar and no written exercises but may produce better results in terms of verbal abilities. I have also
read a review that claims the Pimsleur program makes a great supplement to LL but I have no knowledge of it.

Is there some software, which teaches fundementals? (Intermediate grammar and little vocab) After completing that, I could move on to Assimil. Sadly, I can't get my hands on Living Language package.
I don't feel very comfortable with audio courses like Pimsleur or MT, because I still might not be able to understand everything (as English isn't my native language), and I can't imagine learning grammar from those. But maybe I'm mistaken and Pimsleur + Assimil would be a good choice, though, I have feeling they are both less grammar oriented.
I don't know if some of you know about software teaching Japanese called "Human Japanese". It seems like a marketing piece, but it really is really good piece of software. I like the way it teaches grammar and introduces new words with easier pace. I'm looking for something similar, but with French.
I heard good things about Fluenz and LinguaPhoone. Any opinions? Should I just get over my grammar issues and complete Pimsleur + Assimil or do Fluenz (for example 1st course) + Assimil?
