It is the first time i am learning a language on my own so i need some advice.
I am studying German and i have the following materials:
-Oxford Take Off in German
-German Demystified
-Assimil German
And an intensive German coursebook.
Do you think i should get something else, too? I have no previous experience, as i said.
I am only used to studying languages in school.

Hi Lavinia,
Firstly, welcome to the forum.
In my opinion, it's best not to get too much material to start off with. Pick one
course that you like the look of, get started with it, and stick with it for a while.
After you've been at it for a week or two, take a step back and review your learning so
far. Are you enjoying yourself and learning a lot? Great, then stick with it like white
on rice. Think you could do better with a different approach? You'll be in a much
better position then to choose a course a little closer to your style, and repeat the
process. It's really that simple.
If you go through this a few times, and you're having difficulty finding a course that
suits your style, then ask around on the forum, with specific reference to the courses
you've tried so far, and what you liked and disliked about them.
Good luck in your future language learning.

The Oxford Take Off is a nice gentle starter package with a good round up of everything and nice audio. I would start there before moving onto Assimil. By Intensive German Coursebook - is that the Routledge one?

Thanks for replying.
Yes, the coursebook is the Routledge one.
Right now, i settled on Routledge and the Oxford Take Off and from time to time i look
through German Demystified but it is going a bit slowly for my taste.

How do you find the Routledge course? I like the Dutch one, and I can get the German audio CDs for the course from my local library but I am wondering if it is worth buying the book and following the course.

Well, i quite like it. But i only finished the first chapter so i don`t know how things
will go in the future with it.
I especially enjoy its fast pace but again, i had some knowledge beforehand so that
might`ve helped.
If you want, i can take some photos of the first pages and send them to you so you can
form your own opinion.
