When I was 13 I was taught that Spanish had the Andalusian and a few other dialects (I've forgotten the names). Even in the most rural regions of Andalusia I've been to, all I have found in 20 years is precisely a variety of accents and quite a few local terms. Even in the Spanish variants from other countries I find little more than what I would call 'peculiarities' rather than 'distinct linguistic features'. To me, 'dialect' is a pretty ill-defined term, at both ends.
