Heartburn, I think some folks might be put off a bit by not knowing exactly how to do it. If you could provide some guidelines, I think some interest might be there. As the one most affected, I'm probably also most interested. I do believe, however, that there are several people on the list who want to see dishonesty revealed, and chastised at least in some small way. I followed the directions by mtwalker on page nine of this thread. Unfortunately, I didn't get the feedback form that he spoke of. The popup that I saw had a button labeled "Report this as inappropriate." So I went through every remaining review that I could find and I reported every one. Although this thread has died out, I can't help but express my gratitude to those who were so helpful in providing evidence of Learning Spanish Like Crazy's unethical practices. While several of you-all were very helpful, heartburn put a lot of time and effort into gathering the evidence. Also, FX's last question to PJackson about squaring his boasts that we were making money for him with his claim in the lawsuit-threatening letter that he had been caused economic damages is great, even though, of cours, PJ never answered.

In my eagerness to thank you guys for your help and hard work, I forgot to mention that if P Jackson had stayed in contact, I was going to offer him the perfect defense. There's an old blues song that has a line:
"Who ya gonna believe? Me or your lyin' eyes." It seems to me this sums up P Jackson's attitude in only 9 words, and using it would have saved him a lot of time to make more money on the way to being "very, very, very rich". I will now devote my meager abilities to trying to come up with some posts that might actually be helpful. By the way, I've linked to this forum as an unbiased source of information about many languge programs, not just Platiquemos and Learning Spanish Like Crazy. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

That is all i have to say. I started this review and never imagined it would get so big... heck- it even took like a month to see more than 2 responses. Well here is my take so far: We are focusing on fake reviews and not at all on the quality of the product. Although my last month was not filled with much studying i can comment on up to lesson 16. The vocabulary and accent i learned form LSLC is excellent. I would not say the word perfect, but put it like this: I teach ESL classes to Mexican immagrants new to NYC. After my class i get taught by advanced spanish students. One of the teachers has a boyfriend in the class. He has dated/learned from her for a year. The 1st day- she hands down said my accent was near perfect and that her boyfriend still couldnt roll R's. Certain concepts are clearer to me than for him as well. This is not to say he is not good. But the fact i have to "mimmick" over and over- i have no chioce but to eventually sound close to the real thing. When i talk to people they think i know more than i do. So here are the positives: Useful Vocabulary A) Emphasis on correct pronunciation (accent) B) (one of)Best alternative to not having native speakers around you C) Narrator slips into full spanish soon after you learn his command prompts (like: listen and repeat, etc.) D) Everyday spanish as opposed to formal spanish E) Develops your listenign and speed automatically. Negatives: A) Narrator slips into full spanish. i put this one here too because even though it is REALLY good to do that, a small percent of prompts aren't explained. Por ejemplo- the phrase "Asi se dice"- which i learned is close to "Thus this is how you say" or "So, this is how you say"- but i had to learn that in Dominican Republic from my sis-in-law. It was *learnable by context, but i can assure you i like to ask questions and A LOT of other people DO NOT. They would need the help. B) Only up to 32 lessons (although i hear there are more from *Crazy Pat coming in) C) Words like teeth need clarifying on the Audio (too many times i read the transcript later and have to relearn to say the word correctly. Like a b would be a d or t. I thought "Yo me visto" was "Yo me disto" until i read it. D) Program covers greeting at lesson 10 when it should be closer to first. Also, i might have not reached yet, but the money exchange isnt there yet. After Pimsleur's 8th *quick lesson i could order a beer and get a hotel and restaurant. The bad prt of pimsleur was the out dated vocab tho because Muy Encantado means Charmed to meet you in a flirtatious way, while LSLC taught Mucho Gusto which i HAVE used ALWAYS in D.R. and in NYC. Other than that the program has been excellent. If you are looking for the ONE course that would take you from no spanish to fluent, there is none. But do get this if you want to speak from week one with a proper accent and learn fast. I would say this course is a more-than-starter kit. Meaning it gives you a lot but you would be a fool to not ask more questions when you get around natives. Trust me they will be floored by what you do know. I currently have hired a tutor, and because the program is bad, but because little things like if,be able to, i will.... are thing i want to conjugate in the past, present, etc and no course i've seen give it to ME in the way i understand. NYC_Trini_Span, thank you for your post.
You seem to like this program indeed. So that everybody here could enjoy your posts with no afterthoughts, would you be able to categorically deny: 1) That you are related to Patrick Jackson, aka "Crazy Patrick", the man behind LearningSpanishLikeCrazy? 2) That you have a financial interest in LearningSpanishLikeCrazy? 3) That you have ever met Patrick Jackson? 4) And for good measure, that you are not Patrick Jackson? I hope you will forgive these questions but they have been discussed previously but never found an answer. I think all people here would love to hear it straight from the horse's mouth and put the issue to rest in one way or another.
