Don,
Glad to see you're feeling better.
Now that you and "Crazy Patrick" are such "bosom buddies" can we expect to see some cross-marketing of each others products in that case?
Assimil, by the way, doesn't have a specific Latin-American Spanish course and at most it notes vocabulary differences by country in a few pages at the back of the beginner's course.
I'd missed your previous post to the forum where you mentioned that you were looking into editing the FAST course for self-study. It's appears to be the kind of thing that would interest my better half should you get round to completing it.
Andy.

Don my friend. I am glad you are back. I assume that your health is good since you have returned. I have been absent as well trying to get a high score on the GMAT. Anyone who has taken it must know my pain. I am glad to see you and Patrick may work together.
I have been working through Programatic FSI I and I wonder how well I should learn each lesson before moving on to the next. Any advice would be great.

Hi, Crylant, and thanks for your good wishes.
I personally, and most of my Foreign Service colleagues didn't like the Programmatic Course very much. By the way, it was never finished. Many sellers push the Basic Course Levels 3 and 4 as a continuation. I think this is a bad idea, since there is no connection between Programmatic and the Basic course; using Basic 3 to follow on from Programmatic 2 is a big disconnect.
I believe, though, that the advice I'd give to someone using Programmatic would be the same as I'd give to someone using Platiquemos. That is, work with each unit until you feel comfortable that you've mastered its content, i.e. that responses come automatically. Then move on. There's also no rule against going back and re-doing a unit if you find you didn't master it as thoroughly as you'd like.
Best wishes with the GMAT.
DonC

Don, I broke out my credit card today and downloaded your program. The ordering process was very easy so I must compliment you for that. I have finished Programmatic Level 1. I bought your program so that I could start at level 1 of the basic course and finish all 4 levels. My question is, should I continue and finish level two of Programmatic, or just skip it and start with level 1 of Platiquemos? Anyone else who has used both programs, please don't hesitate to answer.
