You should try version 3. Or 4. The images are different and the program is more attractive. |

The worst wasn't the images. It was the methodology. It was nothing more than an overpriced flash card
program.

Please don't laugh, but I started learning french with free podcasts that I found on the internet. Basically "Coffee break French" and "Learn French by Podcast".
"Coffee break French" is a nice introduction to the french language, where there is a mixture of basic french grammar and "holiday sentences" to remember. They come in 15 minutes podcasts, but only the first 80 episodes are good. All the rest is rubbish...just a short french monologue followed by an English translation.
"Learn french by podcast" is for more advanced learners. There is little grammar and these podcasts just consist in french dialogues followed by an English explanation of the expressions used in those dialogues.
Later on I discovered the Michel Thomas french course, which is much better than those podcasts. The man is a genious and he seems to know how to implant the french language in your head with little effort and very fast.

MT French is good, but MT Dutch is even better. I love it!

I used MT French, but i don't think it helped me to become fluent much. My favourite for french was French in
action, lingq and yabla. Also 1 hour per week tutor.

I'm trying MT Dutch and it's reeally great! I'd already been studying Dutch for some time, so there was pretty much nothing new for me, but it was great to practice and "use" the grammar non-stop.
For beginners, it's a great method!

Many of you probably are aware of these resources, but if you aren't, enjoy my discovery
of the DLI... So much supplementary stuff! (Esp. for Arabic and Spanish listening)
