Please read this document before posting and make sure you follow the rules. They are self-evident and will allow this forum to keep its quality over time.

FORUM
This forum exists for the benefit of its users and non-members who read it but do not post. It is an open space where people from all over the world can come and share their experiences about learning languages, language programs, bookshops, school or specific languages.

LANGUAGE
Please post messages in English. If you wish to write in a different language, use the Multilingual Lounge or Private Messaging.

SPELLING
Please spell correctly. If English is not your mother tongue, you may not be able to write every word correctly, but at least try to. If you are a native English speaker, watch your spelling. It is a lack of respect for other users of the forum not to write correctly, even so more in the face of people who had to study your language for years and write it better than you do. If you can't spell it, don't write it.

STYLE
Please do not begin your messages by 'HI!!!' or 'Hey there'. This does not add anything to your messages and is a distraction for other users of the forum. Use clear and concise language. Try not to post one-line messages and refrain from "text-speak" (e.g. lol, rofl, etc).

NEWBIE QUESTIONS
Read previous posts on the same topic before asking a basic question - other members do not wish to repeat the same discussions over and over again. Basic questions from people who are learning their first foreign language should be posted in the 'Advice Center'.

DOUBLE POSTING
Please do not double post. One message goes into one sub-forum and only one. Members who write multiple posts will be reminded not to do this, then any further infractions will be deleted.

VOTING
The forum vote feature exists to help you support members who write quality posts. Please do not abuse this capability. If your voting behavior is suspicious, your voting privileges and/or your account will be terminated.

CHIT CHAT
No chit chat. Please help us keep the quality of this forum by NOT cluttering it with useless messages which belong in a chatroom. Keep the conversation on topic and avoid personal conversation with one or two other members. If you wish to 'chat' with a user or have a personal conversation you may do so using the Private Message button on this forum or by email.

URL DROPPING
No URL dropping please. Do not come here to drop the URL of your website and use our forum to promote it. This includes both commercial AND non-commercial, non-profit, free websites. If you wish to share a relevant URL with members of the forum and you have already participated in the forum for a while, you may do so by explaining that the site is yours, why you made it and ask for comments.

PIRATE COPIES OF LANGUAGE PROGRAMS
Do not use the forum to post requests to trade pirate copies of language programs nor links to download them.

RELIGION & POLITICS
No religion, no politics - house rules. Like a barman in a saloon, I ask you not to discuss politics and religion in this forum, but only languages.

FLAMES, PERSONAL ATTACKS & DISRUPTIVE POSTING
Do not post deliberately inflammatory, argumentative or aggressive messages. If you disagree with a person, you can argue with his ideas in a respectful manner. Don't attack the person, his personality or what he is, even in an indirect way. This is not why people come on this forum and offending posts will be deleted and you will be banned. If you resent the existence of people who speak more languages than you do now, you will find this forum frustrating. People who post disruptive messages on the forum or can't abide by the forum rules will have their account terminated.

APPLICABLE LAW
By visiting how-to-learn-any-language.com, you agree that the laws of Lausanne, Switzerland, without regard to principles of conflict of laws, will govern these Conditions of Use and any dispute of any sort that might arise between you and how-to-learn-any-language.com.

COPYRIGHTS
If you do post content or submit material you grant how-to-learn-any-language.com and its affiliates a nonexclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media. You grant how-to-learn-any-language.com the right to use the name that you submit in connection with such content. You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content that you post; that the content is accurate; that use of the content you supply does not violate this policy and will not cause injury to any person or entity; and that you will indemnify how-to-learn-any-language.com or its affiliates for all claims resulting from content you supply. how-to-learn-any-language.com has the right but not the obligation to monitor and edit or remove any activity or content. How-to-learn-any-language.com takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any content posted by you or any third party.

MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS
It is forbidden to register multiple accounts on this forum. If you do this, they will all be terminated. If you were banned and want to join again, send an email to one of the moderators about it, otherwise the new account will be terminated as before.

MODERATING DECISIONS
If you do not agree with a decision taken by a moderator, you can do one of two things: (1) send a polite Private Message to one of the moderators to express your disagreement or (2) decide that you don't like the way the forum is run and go post somewhere else. Those are your only two choices. If you start opening threads to dispute moderating decisions, open new threads if these are closed, publish the content of private messages received from a moderator to dispute a decision in the open forum, send an avalanche of insulting messages or threaten to 'leave the forum' if the moderators don't see things your way, you will invariably find yourself at the next paragraph.

BANNING
If your behavior on this boards gets you banned, there is no appeal and no justification of the decision. Make sure you follow the rules on this page and this will never happen to you.

Let us keep this community a clean and pleasant place.

Thanks and enjoy!
