Do you have any certain words in your languages which just feel awesome to say? For whatever reason? Maybe words that just sound awesome, words that maybe have a taboo meaning, words that are so cleverly formed? Words that feel orgasmic when you say them and cause a rush of excitement?
For me, the following words are so exciting to say. English Assault rifle (this word not only sounds awesome, it is funny because I have never seen a rifle which wasnt made for the very purpose of assaulting people. It is overly clear what it is used for, which is funny. Saying this word just feels so awesome.) Assclown (very funny insult. I have only heard pro-wrestler Chris Jericho use this word) Sissie (It feels very manly when you call weaklings this word. It feels like it has a strong military image) Back in the old country (know that I am living abroad, I used this immigrantesque expression when talking to my parents by phone) Spanish Cojonudo (rude word used to imply that something is good) Japanese 俺 (ore) (rough manly word meaning "I". Inappropriate in certain situations. I love refering to myself as 俺 to the extent that I feel a rush of excitement) 女房 (nyoubou) (I am totally engrossed with this word which is a slightly old fashioned way to refer to ones wife. It just feels to manly to say it.) A similar Korean word, chibsaram also feels awesome to say. Any words that you feel are awesome and exciting to say? Chinese Mandarin:
俺:It means the same as in Japanese,a very manly word indeed! Sadly its use is only restricted in the Northern part of China 老婆:Wife. Again, very manly and universally used Cantonese: "是但啦" or"冇所谓啦", I thin in English it means "Whatever,doesn't matter" French: C'est fou! It's even funnier when there's the frightened look that goes with it German: vielleicht, is a very good-looking word English: "You are such a stupid bitch" cracks me up every time! Spanish: Jolín. Where I lived this was consistently pronounced JOOOOlííín, it sounded awesome.

I agree about "piping hot". It always makes me smile when I hear it or read it. Another one in this same category is "spanking new".
I'd prefer "A salt rifle", though I've no idea if such a thing has ever been thought of. Well, it has now :o). Spanish: Descuajiringado - approx. meaning: "smashed up and bent, often beyond repair, sometimes even beyond recognition". 2 persons have voted this message useful | |||

German: Tohuvabohu (chaos), zerfleddert (what happens to a notebook if you use it a lot and take bad care of it)

German: Aschenputtel (Cinderella). Maybe my Spanish-ears find weird that this sweet and soft girl's original name is such a strong and potent word.
Hebrew: Chutzpah (Audacity). This word is simply awesome. Spanish: Tempestad (Storm). I just like how this word sounds, I find it very euphonic. 1 person has voted this message useful |
