He who does not know foreign languages does not know anything about his own.
This is, by far, my favourite language quote. It seems to me that it is so true, because during my language study, I have discovered more and more about Romanian, doing grammatical connections for example, or watching foreigners talking trying to guide their steps through the discovery of this magnificent language using English, or even German.
However, on this site one can find lots of other language quotes, although I think that non-classical quotes from the forum's members (like Sprachprofi's above) are even more interesting!

A Czech proverb meaning: the more languages you know, the more times a person you are. Not a great translation but hopefully you get the meaning.
