Cool idea! I have 2 books equidistant from me here in bed, where I'm usually surfing on my laptop:
1st book wrote:
In only two days, it seemed, the earth was covered with anemones, orchids, asphodels, wild gladioli; for once there were birds everywhere, on migration. |

(I wouldn't recognize that quote, even though I read it recently. If you can place it without Googling, you are *really* good.)
This one is funny, because more native English speakers (of a specific age range, maybe,) who don't know any Spanish at all, will have a good guess at this one:
2nd book wrote:
Pete y Jupiter redujeron velocidad hasta convertir su marcha en un trote. |

"どこへ行くかというと、食堂です”
That's probably impossible, but the other book I have next to me would be far too easy.

I'm feeling great shame right now because I do not have a target language book next to me. They are all neatly placed on the shelf right now, and this almost NEVER happens!
I do have a book about language right here, though, and the sentence is:
Current fellows include Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, and Tim Berners-Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web.
Maybe someone else has this book? It's a book about linguistic history published about a year ago. I have the paperback version and just started reading it.
This is a fun topic!

そうだ、プールに落ちたことにしよう。
This one *might* be guessable if anybody has been to the movies in Japan in the last few months.

Dobbs was my ace in the hole.
Check yes, people, awesome sentence. *sighs and looks across the room at the book that I wish had been sitting next to me*
