Thank you so much for the response! It is greatly appreciated.

I'm 23 but I'm still completely unsure about what my path in life is. I don't necessarily want to work for intelligence, but if it was the only thing that could bring food to the table, I'd have to go with it. I know for sure I absolutely do not want to be a foreign service officer, although I would be interested in working for the State Department. I'm pondering going into academia - since my interest sits in Chinese-Middle Eastern affairs, I wonder if there's not some academic route I can follow that would make me a teacher in policy or government in that area. Besides teaching at universities or government work, I'm not sure what other options are out there for me.

I love both Arab culture and Persian culture and I would be so happy to learn both languages, but fluency in Chinese is impossible to maintain unless you are using it every day of your life. So, it's really only practical for me to pick up only one different language.

The biggest trend in business is globalization. I'm working on my master's degree in business and I can tell you businesses value people that not only know the language of the country they are doing business in, but the culture as well. In the states, theere are many things that are outsourced. We usually think of China when it comes to manufacturing jobs, but North and South Korea are involved as well, and sometimes even involved in simply inputs.
