Would anybody like to participate in doing mini-sagas? A mini-saga is a short story of exactly 50 words.
I'm kind of inspired by Pauline's All Languages Forum to do this as a creative writing exercise. (Obviously the 50 words can be optional since languages are so different. It's only for those who like the extra challenge.) I'll start out doing one in Spanish, which I've been learning for a few weeks, and then one in German which is more abstract. I'll add the English translation as well. I welcome any critique! Estoy en un autobús en un país extranjero. Estoy sentado junto a una gran mujer y su perro. El conductor de autobús canta. Cantamos en voz alta. El sol brilla. El perro mira. Un hombre entre el autobús. Él lleva una camisa negro y un sombrero negro. El no canta. (I am in a bus in a foreign country. I sit next to a large woman and her dog. The bus driver is singing. We all sing loudly. The sun is shining. The dog looks. A man gets in the bus. He wears a black shirt and a black hat. He is not singing.) Wenn ich nicht zu spät ins bett gegangen wäre, dann hätte ich meinen Wecker nicht an die Wand geworfen. Gestern Abend war die Stimmung hoch. Tolles Abendessen und der perfekter Wein. Es wurde über alten Zeiten geplaudert. Eine Delle in die Wand und eine halbe Stunde später bin ich aufgestanden. (If I hadn't gone to bed so late I wouldn't have thrown my alarm clock at the wall. The mood was high last night. A great meal and the perfect wine. (We) talked about old times. Ech fuere mat mengem Auto doheim. Ech sinn nach eng kéier doheim an meng Wunneng. I am home in my apartment. I am very hungry. I like to eat bread and I like to drink beer. Saya memaksa sendiri bangun dan bersedia untuk hari lagi. It is five in the morning and I can hear birds singing. The cool morning breeze feels nice against my face. I don't want to wake up. Hi Pauline :) These are individual short stories. You don't have to continue the previous story. Write about whatever you want ;) They're supposed to be exactly 50 words and can have a title up to 10 words. (optional) 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
