Would anybody like to participate in doing mini-sagas? A mini-saga is a short story of exactly 50 words.

I'm kind of inspired by Pauline's All Languages Forum to do this as a creative writing exercise. (Obviously the 50 words can be optional since languages are so different. It's only for those who like the extra challenge.)

I'll start out doing one in Spanish, which I've been learning for a few weeks, and then one in German which is more abstract. I'll add the English translation as well. I welcome any critique!

(I am in a bus in a foreign country. I sit next to a large woman and her dog. The bus driver is singing. We all sing loudly. The sun is shining. The dog looks. A man gets in the bus. He wears a black shirt and a black hat. He is not singing.)

(If I hadn't gone to bed so late I wouldn't have thrown my alarm clock at the wall. The mood was high last night. A great meal and the perfect wine. (We) talked about old times. A small dent in the wall and half an hour later I got up.)

This looks like fun! :D

It is five in the morning and I can hear birds singing. The cool morning breeze feels nice against my face. I don't want to wake up. I want to sleep but I know that the morning will fade away. I force myself to wake up and get ready for another day.

Hi sunja,

what a great idea!!!

How have we to play this game?

Hi Pauline :)

These are individual short stories. You don't have to continue the previous story. Write about whatever you want ;) They're supposed to be exactly 50 words and can have a title up to 10 words. (optional)
