Oh my gosh!
I've just found this cool thread and decided I have to bring it back to life, hope it will work :)
I will come up with something in Japanese tomorrow, promise.
Maybe I could try to write something in Mandarin, but I would love to have a native speaker correct my text.

In French:
Le monde qui va en vitesse
Penchés, se protégeant de la pluie
Un arc-en-ciel ignoré
In Esperanto, similar but trying for alliterations...
Homaro hejmen hastantegas
Klinighantaj kontraupluv'
Chielarko kvazau chagrenig'
Any native speaker: please let me know what mistakes I made.

I'm now alone on a boat on a wide ocean. I was fishing on the boat when a storm came up. I lost consciousness. When I came to I was the only one on the boat. I don't have any water left. There's a little bit of water coming in the boat. Far in the distance I can see an island! Can I make it to the island from the boat? I have to discard the boat and swim to the island.
I don't think that makes 50 words but who's counting! Can somebody help me with "boat"? I think "fune" is a ship but I have one dictionary that says it's a boat too. "fune" is not quite a fishing boat is it?

I can't help with the story right now. However, I believe that fune is a small boat like this one . On the other hand this is a big ship. ( Google Images told me. )
( Note: not a paper boat but just a small boat. )

L'uomo giaceva morto.
The man lay dead. There was a lot of blood on the sidewalk and on the car. It was evident what had happened. A police officer was interrogating the driver.
"I didn't see him. The sun blinded me" said the driver.
"You can't fool me. I know you had it in for him"
And the officer took him away.

Nice story :)
As far as I remember a fishing boat is 漁船 (ぎょせん). And I've never seen 舟 used in a text, it's always been 船.
Hope this helps somehow.
And I will post my mini-saga soon ;)

Two minutes go by, three minutes, four minutes, and suddenly...immense pain, an instant of torture. Then, only darkness.
