We are having some inspiring discourse here! I am afraid I am going to have to stand with Socrates on this one. But your oration is quite interesting Darobat if a bit fanciful at times.

Didn't Aradchair posit Latin as a possible "global" language instead of the "artificial" ones like Esperanto?
I thought I was the only one who thought that, classicist that I am(at heart anyway). The Roman civilization was the foundation.Like Borges said it spread Greek culture to the rest of the world. Why not use Latin like they did in the ancient and medieval worlds?I don't know but to me it seems obvious. Is that too easy a conception?
Latin is up to the task technologically and obviously scientifically with all the neologisms and such.I say scrub Esperanto,Interlingua and other proposals like modern Western toungues(i.e.,English or French).I am a native Anglophone yet I say:Let's reinstate our Western Progenitors! Who is with me?

The title of the thread I was referring to was
"Languages Die Out" in the General Discussion forum.
I find it bothersome when someone suggests a single
cultural vehicle should replace all others.

Ya, I'm sorry. I just can't stand people who bash Esperanto. Especially when their "evidence" is all lies. I'm not an Esperanto activist, but I will protect it from people who are just trying to destroy it.
