I, again, spent a lot of my free time doing nothing today. I should at least watch TV in Japanese and Korean. Anyway, watched Atashinchi no Danshi episode 6. Horikita Maki is soooo hot. Watched episode 1 of Time Between Dog and Wolf, episode 5 subbed on Invincible Youth, and part of episode 13 of Return of Iljimae. Listened to a lot of music today, mainly Korean though. Also did the repeated listening thing I'm trying out with podcasts and transcripts. I won't know for a while if it's helping my listening, but it's helping to speed up my reading, especially hiragana. So, today is the end of week 2, but there's still 3 weeks left of December, so I still have a lot to do. I think I'll mainly focus on scriptorium for the coming week, as I'm almost done with Continuing Korean, and then I'll move on to Yonsei's Grammar for International Students (not the right title, but I don't feel like going out to check. Well, it probably would have taken the same time to go check as it did for me to type these sentences in parentheses...)

I was mainly focused on grammar today, and didn't study much vocab. I spent a lot of time listening to music. Oh well, listening is a big weakness, and it is helping. I watched Atashinchi no Danshi episode 7 today and Invincible Youth episode 6. Man, I can't even fight episodes 7 and 8 raw...KBS America is on a roll there (shame too, since no one in America gets KBS America. Only the people in the big cities do.) This morning, I chatted with 4 Koreans, and I chatted with one with a mix of Korean and English. I'm starting to recognize more grammar, but I still have too many holes in my vocab, and my output is still weak, but at least I wrote in Korean today.
Tomorrow, I'm thinking of recording my time to see how much time I really do waste. I have to make my vacation count because I'm taking a full load next semester (18 credit hours, and that's probably 15 hours outside of class.)
I still need to work on my speaking, since I want to try and make a video in the coming months, and when I can gather my thoughts in Korean better, try making at least a biweekly video. For Japanese, I'll probably wait until the summer vacation to start recording videos. I can probably pronounce it better than I can pronounce Korean, but I can't say jack in it.

I only recorded my times until 4pm yesterday. After that, I didn't do anything language related until 7:30 pm or so, and that was listening to music while talking to a Korean on Shared Talk.
1 minute reviewing Japanese vocab
1 minute reviewing Korean vocab
22 minutes listening to Japanese passively
74 (recorded) minutes listening to Korean music
56 minutes doing Korean scriptorium
23 minutes doing Japanese scriptorium
47 minutes watching Atashinchi no Danshi episode 8
52 minutes watching the rest of Return of Iljimae episode 13
138 minutes watching Time Between Dog & Wolf episodes 2 and 3
16 minutes listening to Japanese music
---
430 total
(321 Korean; 109 Japanese)
So, that was 430 minutes yesterday of doing language related things (before 4 pm when I stopped recording my time.) I won't record time until TAC 2010 actually starts just to see my time distributions. Only thing I do feel bad about is that I didn't learn new vocab and kanji, but writing a lot let me see all the words I learned being used in context, so that's a plus.

Listened to Korean Class 101 Beginning Season 4 Lesson 5 and Japanese Pod 101 Beginning Season 1 Lesson 83. I changed up my plan. Instead of just listening through the lesson entirely, I just read the PDF to see what grammar the lesson went over and then listened to the lesson multiple times. First time was to see how much I could understand, second time was listening while reading the transcript in the target language, third time was listening while reading in English, the fourth was just listening again (after knowing what was being said and what it meant), and if I had trouble on any listenings afterword, I would look at the PDF again. I think that helped me more than listening to them going over vocab for ten minutes.
I spent a lot of time watching Korean TV today and listening to music (sorry Japanese.) Watched episodes 56-57 of Queen Seon Duk subbed (I've watched every drama subbed this far, and watched Full House without paying attention to subs the second time watching it halfway through until I went back to the subs.) I watched Invincible Youth 7-8 raw, and wow, I still can't comprehend anything. Probably because I spend all of my time watching and not studying lol.
I think starting from tomorrow, I need to structure my learning so I can see some results. I'm still at the stage where I can only pick up a word or two in both languages when I read (in Korean, can't read kanji yet) and listening/watching TV shows.
As for the number of vocab I learned in Korean today, I already knew 40 or so. But I finished the 'A' level in my 6000 vocab back, so that means there's 5000 left (at the max. Some words are listed twice because of differences like it could be a noun or a verb.

Wow, this week has been unproductive. >.> Today, I mainly chatted a lot. I did type a little in Korean, but most was in English. Listened to a lot of music, mainly Korean. Watched episodes 10 and 11 of the Korean drama You're Beautiful. Tried chorusing a little bit with both Korean and Japanese. I think it's something I need to do everyday. Probably in 5-10 segments throughout the day or so, because man, I didn't think my rhythm in Japanese was that bad.
Tomorrow, I'm thinking of making it more like Tuesday, except I have to work (but then again, on Tuesday I did all of that before I would leave for work on Friday.) I think I'll try chorusing with songs too, since I spend so much time listening to them. But seriously, up above in the numbers "game", all of that probably only took me an hour or so (I use mnemonics to memorize vocab, so that's about a minute per word.) Well, all I know for sure is that I'll be watching Invincible Youth episode 9 raw tomorrow.

I tried chorusing about 10 minutes for both languages. I think it's a good idea and I'll be trying it out for a couple months and see if there's an improvement. Yesterday, I watched You're Beautiful (K drama) and Atashinchi no Danshi (J drama.) I didn't do much yesterday because I worked twice as long than I expected.

Aside from watching Korean TV, I haven't done much studying the past week.
I'm also going to learn Spanish, but doing it through Assimil so that I only have to spend a short amount of time per day on the language. I think I spent around three hours looking up tips on how to pronounce "rr."
Tomorrow, back to formal studying.

I decided it'd be best to wait until 2011 or so to learn Spanish. Anyway....

Lazy week. Spent most of it watching Korean dramas and variety shows. Spent very little time with Japanese audio this week. Listened to some Spanish this week, but that'll probably be a very short thing to do everyday (while trying to do the rr also) before I start learning it in 2011. Anyway, my TAC won't start until January 1. I plan to keep track of my "accomplishments" and I'll also add time spent, too. I don't know how it'll be divided yet, but the more divisions, the more I can see where I spend a lot of time in.
