I've recently been accepted to a Japanese distance education course at Hogskolan Dalarna.
In Sweden university studies are free; even for foreigners (though I believe they've passed legislation to stop non-EU folks getting this soon) and there seem to be quite a few distance education courses available, Dalarna offers several language ones.
I've no clue what it'll be like yet but I'm hopeful. I'm aiming to try and build myself up a BA in my free time eventually.
Just posting as not too many people are aware of the free education possibilities available out there and this could be good both in terms of actually learning something and having it accredited.

Thanks for sharing. Can you give a little bit more information regarding the application process? For example, I
would just be interested in taking a few languages classes and not necessarily interested in pursuing a degree, do
you know if that is acceptable? Would I still need to apply if I am just planning on taking distance learning classes?
