Talking about polyglots, everybody always think about Ziad Fazah: "He's the greatest
polyglot in the wolrd."
But, an information known by very few people is that a brazilian called "Carlos Amaral
Freire" has studied more than 120 languages. He lives in Brazil and is 79. There is an
interview in Portuguese on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OLYPRpRlfM
His short biography (in Portuguese):
http://www.portuguesdobrasil.net/carlos_amaral_freire.htm
He also wrote a book translating into Portuguese 60 poems from 60 different languages
called "Babel de Poemas".

Freire is mentioned in this thread as well as this one.
He seems to be a very interesting linguist.

That's why I didn't find any results by searching "Carlos Amaral Freire", everybody
thinks that his name is "Carlos do Amaral Freire" or "Carlos de Amaral Freire". This
ain't my fault. Sorry, anyway. Try to do that and you'll be unsuccessfully.

No worries, just helping you out. :-) Thanks for stating his name differently; I hadn't realized that was how he says his name.
