A language adopt new words when spekears, that not necesseraly need to be native, bring new concepts, most of the English words which have being introduced in Brazil are coming from inventions, theorys and tecnics, examples:
Mouse
Deletar
Postar
Feedback
Brainstorm
Benchmark
Those words doesnt have portuguese version,or are not used, because those concepts were introduced by English speakers.
Most of the words that English and portuguese share come from Latin,Greek,Hebraic Tupi...., we dont say "eu bebo water" neither you say "I like pão",but in many of IE languages people say something like: "The antropology is the study of the man." " A antropologia é o estudo do homem" " La antropologia es el estudo del hombre."
Names of animals, fruits, theorys, tecnics and inventions are what we share; new concepts that didnt exist in our languages.
