Today I bought a dictionary (why am I always slow with these things) and it's the pocket Oxford Russian one (goes both ways). For €19,25 no less. I also bought the Oxford Grammar as a reference for the future.
Class is going excellently I must say - I am still молодец!
But tonight I will watch part three of a documentary (which is in English, but includes Russian-language interviews) about the rise of Putin to power and his reign in charge of the Russian Federation. I was impressed at myself last time - I picked up words from speech, even with the Dutch subtitles.
My father also sent home an email from his business trip that he was on the plane next to a Russian businessman who clearly decided that Russian stereotypes were the In Thing and drunk so much vodka he was absolutely hammered by the end of the flight. Of course he tried to talk to my dad, but my old man's Russian amounts to badly pronounced "da" and "businessman" so it's useless.
Also, the guy was sodding drunk.
Time to learn more, I guess? I am finally getting a bit of steam in the 6WC now even though I could be doing ten times as much. But hey. I enjoy life, love, and think it's worth living, so whatever.

The genitive plural endings are kind of escaping me. Time to study it some more.

This is some major progress here, and writing in French and German as well, excellent! I see that you struggle with some of the same things I struggle with, only 50 times faster. I am impressed!

Merci pour la courage!
I have been reviewing lots of vocabulary but not much else today. I have to go to a meeting about my thesis tomorrow and I'm supposed to have IDEAS for research - but I am lazy, drawing lots of blanks, and therefore screwing it up like a boss.
I brainstormed a bit, but there is no structure in anything at the moment - my brain, my head, doesn't seem to allow it. It needs time for things to sink in.
Sometimes, my own laziness makes me want to kill myself. Ugh. I need to learn to be punctual, structured, and less of a bloody mess. All over the place.

It will sort itself out. When I was a kid I held the class record for " forgetting crosses" which was little
crosses written on a paper on a wall in the school, and which we got everytime we forgot a book, had not
done our homework or came late to school. Everyone else had two or three a month, I would run into the
double digits. And even as a young adult my mom got so upset with me for wasting so much time, that she
wrote me a daily schedule complete with when to study, when to shower and when to go to bed. Yet once
I decided to focus, I did the three years of high school in one, and passed my French exam at the
University at half the scheduled time, as the youngest in Norway in history. So I am 100% sure that once
you put your mind to it, you are capable of great things. On the other hand I just got a reminder that too
much studying can be downright unhealthy, so instead of being mad at yourself, perhaps you should decide
that you
prefer a balanced life which includes partying and fun, and just try to focus a little bit when you really need
to?

The problem is that I'm not studying too much, I am actually doing NOTHING because I don't have class at the moment - just the thesis to worry about. So I have oodles of free time which I am not actually doing anything with. It's really my own fault.
Of course it will sort itself out, it always has sorted itself out in the end and I am pretty good at sorting things out when I want to - I am someone who needs half the time of everybody else to finish things usually (sounds arrogant, but it's, sadly, true, so I am bad material for comparison).
So really, there is no excuse here. Normally if I am stressed or overworked I would know, but I am probably doing nothing so it's actually just pure laziness. That's why I'm mad - I'm not mad because I am actually stressing myself out - I don't work 15 hrs a day. :(

I was always late and sometimes forgot my homework, but during my high school grades I was top of every class most of the time so they really didn't care eventually. Because I was never used to working hard to achieve anything this got me in trouble at university.
