So, this is my first TAC.
I've decided to have a go at both Danish and Norwegian (they're very close to my native Swedish). I have a dusty copy of Linguaphone Norwegian and a recent publication called "Tio lektioner i danska" (Helle Karman). That's a start. For some reason, most of the books from the Scandinavian section at the library focus on the similarities and differences. For instance, there are bilingual (and trilingual) dictionaries (e.g. "Dansk-norsk-svensk ordbok" - Natanel Beckman), as well as titles such as "Dansk som nabosprog" (Jens Cramer), "Dansk for svenskere" (Kjeld Kristensen), "Dansk for svensktalende" (Robert Zola Christensen), "Dansk grammatik for svenskere" (same author), "Lærebok i norsk for svensker" (Anton Fjeldstad), "Norsk for svensker" (same author), "Norsk som nabospråk" (Olaug Rekdal), "Vägar till danska språket" (Maj Holm Svensson)... These books might by all means be useful (even more important) for me at the moment, but I don't think one can go wrong with at least one course that treats the language as a language and not just an off-shoot. In addition to the Linguaphone and Karman courses I'll use radio dramas, audiobooks (some months ago I downloaded three from dr.dk, for free!), shadowing (one of my favourite activities), read the occasional article, Youtube (right now, my main Norwegian input comes from Ylvis - would anyone believe that?), watch the Danish series "Rejseholdet" (or "Mordkommisionen" as it's called here) and "Matador", maybe Skype...
