I've become interested in money-reform lately, and as I study German, I looked at some
of the German material on the web on this topic, as they seem to have quite a few
experts, and discovered this rather interesting individual:

Bernd Senf

He's an emeritus professor in financial economics, and talks about that, but much more.
He looks like a barely reconstructed 1960s hippy, and maybe he was one, but he seems to
know what he is talking about, and works very hard....some of his lectures on Youtube
are 2-3 hours long.

But for a German learner who is interested in his subject matter (and I think it is
fascinating) he is very good because he speaks very clearly, and not too fast.

His writing is also nice and clear.

There are links to various videos and articles (as PDFs) on his site, and you can also
easily find stuff on Youtube.

I heartily recommend him.

There is also at least one video of his around in English, and although his English is
actually quite good, it is rather halting, and it's actually easier to listen to him in
his native German. He repeats phrases quite a bit, which is good, especially as they
are often part of the specialist language of Economics - VWL - Volkswirtshaftslehre.

It's The Monetary System Stupid! - Interview with Professor Bernd Senf

An interview in German, with English subtitles.

Recorded in 2008, around the time that the financial system was crashing asunder. He was one of the relatively few experts who had
expected something of the sort to happen, and he refers to some of his earlier published books which seem to be prescient, but as he
makes clear, such a crash was inevitable sooner or later.

This is good: from the Monetative website:

Monetative

The posting Deutschlandfunk Sendung, audio und text,
Vollgeld statt Buchgeld
von Caspar Dohmen, 5 Jan 2013
Text in English

Link to audio and German text: German audio & text

Link to English text: English text

Although there are several speakers, the audio is clear, and mostly at a reasonable speed for non-native speakers.

p.s. I have just realised that the English text is a summary, and not a literal translation. However, I think the German text is a word
for word transcription of the German audio.

That guy is surprisingly sensible, and it's impressive that he can talk for hours on end about his subject. I guess the reason he doesn't get wider media exposure, is because of his slightly "otherly" appearance.
