I'm pretty sure this is not a democracy.
Cristina is a a dictator. Granted, one who listens to her people, takes everyone's opinions into consideration, and is as fair to everyone as possible.
It's her challenge, and her rules. She made the rules. She also said to stop arguing about it.

Now that the charter is out, (a big Norwegian bear hug to Jeffers for that :-) we can hopefully move towards
more productive topics of discussion, and if there are more questions regarding how to count things I suggest
you send me a PM. Just grant me a day or two to answer, I do not always have the iPad in my lap. It's
summer :-) And this is one of the few summers of my life where we have actually had lots of sun, so I try to
spend most of my time working in my bikini in the garden to soak up as many rays of sunshine that my poor
vitamin D deficient body can absorb.
If there are strong views on how I manage the Super Challenge, or how to interpret the rules you are also
most welcome to send me a PM. In any language I have on my profile plus Russian :-)
And I am happy to hear more about how you are all doing, and how the sprinters among you manage to do
all that you do. It is nice to get some good ideas for new ways to find time for language studies.

This does resemble the "write your own book!" thing, as in "I'm a straight white man and I don't see anything wrong and your criticism ruins my enjoyment". Sorry for the loaded comparison.

If there is an insult here somewhere I am afraid I am unable to catch it. You are most welcome to send me
your views on PM,Serpent, or through the social media we have in common.

Sorry, Cristina's post wasn't there when I replied. In line wth being more positive, let's discuss what we find actually challenging about the SC, or how we challenge ourselves within it. In my case:
-I aim to listen to female voices more. Since I watch a lot of football, I'm more used to male ones. In Italian I aim for 50 items, in other languages just as many as possible
-regional variation: Swiss Italian, Swiss German, Serbian and Bosnian content, hopefully some African Portuguese one day
-finding new things to try without stretching the rules
-not chasing after the stars and just letting them happen naturally
-finding parallel texts
-sparing HP for later, and for languages in which it's hard to get something else

I haven't checked this thread for a while. The "charter" that's "out" is this post, I suppose?
Thanks in advance.

I didn't want to answer, since it's my post, but I'm pretty sure that's what Cristina is referring to.

I have been working on a French film list since sometime in the last Super Challenge. The list is an Excel spreadsheet, with over 300 French films, ranked from most popular to less popular. For each film, I have the English and French titles, the year, director, genre, number of minutes, age rating, and a score. You can use the filters at the top to sort it however you want, but as it is you will find it sorted by score and then by year.
French film list
How was the list made? Basically, I found various lists of "best French films", etc. If a film is on a list, that gives it one vote. Films also get votes for Césars for best film, best actress, best actor and best director, and I found a list of the "Highest grossing" films, which I thought added a different element to the selection.
Column A is my own tally of films I've watched, so you can change that to your own tally. Column J, "My Likes", is where I could vote for films I like; again, delete that column and add your own favourites instead if you want.
If you look at sheet 2, there is a list of the 16 sources, their websites, date accessed and a few comments. Below (for my reference) is a list of other websites I was thinking of including. But I decided the list is good enough without adding a few more sources.
At the end are a few films I saw so I added them.
