I would add a serious lack of learning resources and opportunities to use the language to the definition, but I was really just admiring your bold stance.
I wouldn't shy away from any one difficult language if I was really interested in it, but if I were to end up with a list of five such languages, the number promulgated in this thread, I would feel forced to look into the available study time.

I don't have any so-called "difficult" languages on my list. I don't shy away from them. My selection is one of love rather than reason. I find the languages on my list beautiful or culturally attractive and gives me enough motivation to pursue them.

I would choose:
1.- One international language: German (besides English and French that I already know)
2.- One constructed language: ESPERANTO
3.- One difficult language: MANDARIN
4.- One (more) native Mexican language: NAHUATL
5.- And one "cultural" language: LATIN
