Thank you all for responding and for all of the advice you have given.
Nieng Zhonghan, those links are great, I'm looking forward to working through them all.
Emk, I will have another look at how I am organising my flashcards. Perhaps using some classic books and short stories that are on the net as material for the MCD. I'll give it a shot.
Iversen, I had previously read of your method before on the forum's wiki page and had thought it to be unsuitable for my own studies (just based on my personality). But after increasing the amount of reading that I am doing as well as checking grammar when it took my fancy, I think there may be some method to your madness! One thing I have learned from my language studies so far is to constantly challenge your accepted methodologies and to be open to trying new things.
Ari and ScottScheule, I had dabbled with such a method before and I can certainly see its benefits, even though as you say it can be a bit dry. But it is as you say, sometimes it just has to be done. Another Anki deck to be created!
Well, I've a lot of thinking to do. Thanks to all of those who responded again.

I'm happy that you acknowledge the theoretical possibility that there may be some method to my madness - and I'm amused that you call it madness.
