Yes, indeedy, people! It's that time of year again, that comes around once a year, that special day for celebrating multilingualism.

This has been a UNESCO event since 1999. but Bengali people have celebrated it since the 1950s, since 21/2/1952 to be precise, the day when some students in Bangladesh were shot for protesting that Bangla, and not Urdu, should be the language of the then East Pakistan. Four years later, the Bengali Language movement won.
It has now become a day in which we celebrate multilingualism in communities, and polyglots get asked to get up on stage and recite poems from memory in 15 different languages, and that.
