Hi everyone,

Sorry for the late response! University has started and I've been getting everything
organized.

snowflake: I find it really weird to watch American movies dubbed into Chinese, but I
will definitely give it a try. If anything, I can look at the Chinese subtitles and go
from there. And I've thought about finding a community, but there is probably a total
of 10 people of eastern Asian descent where I live. :/

clumsy: In Taiwanese dramas, I find that I can probably understand about 70-80% of what
is going on, so it shouldn't be a problem. I find that I have a harder time
understanding dramas from Mainland China, since they have an accent (in Taiwanese
perspective) and different slang.

As an update, my brother told to me download a program called TVU Player. It's pretty
useful because it has different programs from different countries/language.

Try animated movies...you might find those less odd.

Does your university have a Chinese student association or perhaps there's a group of Mandarin speaking students who hang out together?
