I saw a few online references to some mythical linguistic beauty contest in which Ukrainian was proclaimed as one of the most beautiful languages in the world, third only to French and Persian. Does anyone know if this event ever took place? Google didn't help. :(

Well, really I'm not going to lie, I've never heard someone (here -"here" means "my country", not the website xD) speaking about ukranian... so, I also googled and found this guy --- http://www.phrasebase.com/archive2/ukrainian/ukrainianone-of -the-most-beautiful-languages-in-the-world.html --- saying he read ukranian was the second most beautiful language (italian the first)... I suppose maybe you already saw it, so I guess my opinion don't help.
I guess in "STALKER" the videogame, the words the guys say are in ukranian; but really Im not sure... I also suppose those are "invented" words or maybe are russian ones...
