Good job! We are totally kicking butt. By the way, please keep on mentioning what you listen to, because although СЛОТ - Доска was fine, СЛОТ's одни odni was JUST what I needed! (It was under related videos on YouTube.) Thanks!

Ya, I'll try. It's hard though to find real good bands in Russian or Spanish because most of the time you have to sift through Spanish or russian music review sites and frankly my reading skills need work. But Ya, for Russian Slot is my favorite (favorite songs are Odni, 2 Kapli, Patriot, Mertvie Zvezdy, and 2 Vojny) and ANJ's Cruel Times, and for Spanish my favorite is El Canto del Loco (favorite songs are Insoportable, Ya nada volvera a ser como antes, La madre de jose, contracorriente). Don't forget to keep us updated on what your listeining too!

Not listening to much myself, I'll try to take a look at everything you've discovered. Thanks!

Haven't yet listened to your Spanish selection, but I am very enthusiastic about Slot. I can't wait to understand more than a few words to see if these guys are crazy or just completely off-beat. I'm happy though because I decrypted most of the chorus in Odni. My Russian is starting to be actually useful, it's a great feeling!

Time for an update. First off, I am glad you guys like slot, I've been listening to them long before I thought to learn Russian so I am glad to find others enjoy them as much as I do. I hope the multiple videos they have provide good listening opportunities.
As for the update, I woke up early this morning to cram in another hour of Spanish grammar before school to make up for lost time the night before. I then spent another two hours making flash cards (I'm going to only count it as an hour). I looked up the 100 most common words in English and translated them into Spanish and tomorrow I'll do the same for Russian. They're mostly connecting words (like, but, so) important grammatical phrases (like reflexive me, you, we) and a handful of important verbs. It should only take a few days to learn, but just cruising through russian wikipedia I notice how much these words appear and it's nice to feel that I have a least an extremely rudimentary understanding of what's being said.
As for my teamates, I am glad to hear that you guys are making such progress, sprachjunge being able to practice with a native German and joanthemaid being able to translate Odni already. I feel a little behind (and paranoid that I'll be left behind), so I am going to push to get a lot more done this weekend. Who knows, I hear there's supposed to be 10 inches of snow tomorrow; maybe I'll get the day off school to work.
Hours:
Spanish- 4.5
Russian- 9

I'm not translating Odni, I could understand like, 50% of the chorus. If you work too hard, I'm going to feel guilty about slacking off.
13.5 hours? And I thought 6 hours were a lot! Congrats!

It's been a while since my last post. I haven't done much studying, but I did some today (I gave into wanderlust and started looking up esperanto and norwegian). Today was a grammar day. I read more on Russian nouns and gender and some more on Spanish numbers. I also got another hour of listening to russian in. Tomorrow I have a few hours off and I'm going to spend it studying.
New Goal to keep me from taking a few days off from studying again: I plan on start writing my posts entirely in Spanish and hopefully in two months russian as well.
Spanish- 5 hours
Russian- 11 hours

Hey, keep it up! Even if we do 20 minutes a day, we will get there. :)
