I don't think learning English to impress a girl or guy will have any effect... I'm sure that many native English speakers (myself included) are jaded towards English learners. There's just so many of them! I wouldn't learn a language to impress anyone, guy or girl. I don't see the point in pursuing an activity such as this (learning a language) unless you're doing it for yourself.

I thought there was only one answer to this question, and that it was "Italian". Another mind-expanding thread.

I don't think is an accent which is usually learned by foreigners, but in this house, all girls, aged 48, 14 and 11 agree that the one accent that absolutely make us all melt is the Irish one.

I absolutely melt when Khaled goes into Arabic at the end of "Aicha" – it sounds so exotic and expressive:

Although, frankly, he's so adorable in the whole video that I don't really care what language he's singing... ;)

It's like nails on a blackboard to me.

To each her own.

Any language will impress people in Australia. But it doesn't mean anything. It won't
make them like you any more than a curiosity. Impressing girls doesn't mean a thing other
than a temporary ego boost before going back to your dank lonely room to memorize Kanji.
