Well, yesterday was day one of my quest and already I have been told that shooting for the stars is ridiculous and I insult the intelligence of people who have learned many languages who are twice as smart and they found it hard...Blah blah blah.

Yes< i realise this is a hard goal and the odds are huge that I will accomplish my goal, however, nothing worth doing is ever easy.

So, i listened to MT(michel Thomas) French foundation for around 2.5 hours and so far so good. They structure is good and it will form a good base for me when I progress to RS. I learned how to say phrases whilst thinking about the grammar and it is true that you come away thinking, 'wow, i am speaking French(I know...long long way to go)

I do find it worrisome that he does not go in depth with regards to Vocab, numbers, days etc, but having famiiarity with RS in Spanish and Italian, I know this will be covered. so its all good.

This is the excitement stage so its important that i capitalise on that effect.

Don't let anyone tell you what you can't do! Worst case scenario, you still learned something, and you have a good base to build on. Michel Thomas programs are not anywhere near perfect, but they do give you a good start with the basics of grammar and how the language works. Especially for someone who's got a background with other Romance languages, you can get a LOT out of 8 hours with him. Good luck diving into French!
