Which is the more "neutral" or "popular" pronunciation of words such as 'station', [staʃun] or [stahun]?

[stahun] is the most common pronunciation.
sj/stj/skj/sk/sch is normally pronounced [h/hw] (but always [sh] in Finland-Swedish)
tj/kj/-tion/(k in certain positions) is always pronounced [sh] (but [ch] in Finland-Swedish, e.g. tjusig, kjol, kött) get a t-sound before - similar to "ch" (as in chap)). In Finland-Swedish, that is.

This confuses me. The common pronunciation is [stahun], but the rule is that -tion is pronounced [ʃ]?
Is 'station' an exception? Does 'motion' follow the rule, or the exception?

If I remember correctly all words with -sion and -tion were pronounced as [h] in Sweden and [sh] in Finland. There were no exceptions. So it means that "motion" is also pronounced as [mohu:n].

Oops! -tion should not be in that group (but the Finland-Swedish pronunciation still applies).
In 'motion' and 'nation', the 't' is pronounced, but the sound after is [hw] (or [ʃ] in some dialects, and Finland-Swedish).
