I noticed that a lot of people were learning Russian, however I am not sure how many choose to learn how to use
the cursive script properly (I was really surprised to be the only one of my university class to use it). Some may be at loss as to how to learn it, and I know I've had troubles trying to explain how to form a letter or how one should look like in context, as well as trying to find material to show how to write them. So I took my whiteboard and my pen and wrote my own Russian cursive method. It's not amazing, it may not be the best, but I hope it may help some of you. I've tried to detail each step I take in writing my letters, for each letter (it's useless for О or С, but can come in handy for Ж, Т and М). At the end, I've put a couple of words that can look confusing, so you can see how the letters are blended together, yet there's still a separation, and a short paragraph from Puhskin's poem "The Bronze Horseman". Again, I'm not saying it's the best, and my handwriting may not be your favourite, but I do hope it will help some in their learning of Russian! Finally, a little test to see if you can actually read what I wrote (I believe it's pretty clear, but I'd like to know what you think!), write in block letters what you think I wrote and (if you know it) its translation! Regarding the poem, it's not the best handwriting, the point here is more to see what cursive looks like in lengthier writings. And sorry for the quality of the pictures! Thank you Préposition for this homemade course of yours: it comes very handy in fact, for the cursive we tend to neglect (if ever trying to learn handwritten russian at all).

Thanks! I really like your latin handwriting. I found after learning cursive Russian my latin writing improved!

Surely, I opened your original file with Acrobat Professional. Then in the Print window, select Adobe PDF printer, go in Properties -> Adobe PDF Settings, set the Default settings to Smallest File Size. CLick OK and print the file. It will let you save the new file, and voilá, it is compressed and much smaller! 1 person has voted this message useful |
