I've decided after almost two years of using it to retire my first French learning log. It's gotten quite long and I can't even navigate it properly any more. I would like to put its contents into a more digestible format, but we'll see when and if I actually get enough motivation to do this.
My current French objective is to pass the TCF with a C1 level or the DALF C1... I haven't decided which one I'll do and I have some time since I've delayed going to France by a year at least.
My studies at the moment are a mix of different activities. I was working through CLE Grammaire progressif du français, and now I'm thinking about going through Vocabulaire progressif du français. I also have Assimil Perfeccionamiento Francés, which I use primarily to keep uttering stuff in French in between language exchanges. I have also begun working through the DALF C1/C2 book by CLE, albeit slowly.
For listening input I typically use French television, sometimes dubbed from an English series, sometimes not... Additionally I use debates and talks from RFI. My French now is at a nice level passively where reading/listening is quite enjoyable, not quite enough to tear through novels at warp-speed, but comfortable... TV is easy enough that I'm beginning to question how much I'm improving from it, understanding some 90-98% depending on the program and whether or not it's dubbed...
So basically I feel like I'm in some type of polishing stage right now... everything is there but has some rough edges occasionally... I need to work a little more with french pronouns (dont, laquelle, duquel, en, y)... I also need to expand my active vocabulary... passively I can get through the written DALF comprehension activities, and while there are words I haven't encountered before they usually don't prevent me from correctly answering the questions.
I'm going to write the TCF 250 exercises test and will post where it thinks I am at the moment.

EN - I didn't manage to finish the whole TCF test, so I haven't got results with that yet... I'll try again soon, but I did find some strange farming vocabulary kept tripping me up. I've since improved my knowledge of vocab like la bouse, le bétail, bovin and that stuff... I've done the CLE advanced vocabulary book up till page 15 (hunting down expressions and words for Anki, will do the exercises later.
Maybe like 45min.
FR - Un petit peu plus tarde.

Blindsheep, could you tell me where you got access to English tv shows dubbed into French? I've just begun seriously studying the language, so I won't really be able to use them for a while, but it would be nice to have access to something like that when I've reached the appropriate level.

Good luck in attempting to get your C1, each time I read your language log. When I don't feel like doing any language learning, I just read your language log and the success that you have had and I feel like doing some studying afterwards!
