68 since the beginning of the year? Wow!
The cool thing about this team is that we are all impressive to each other in different ways, it's really motivating.

Very impressed by your first post and work ethic Sprachjunge, your killing it!! Very inspiring to see. I'm a relative
youngen as well (24), so also doing full time uni in a completely different area of interest. (What are you studying
just out of curiosity?) But good to see how much someone else is able to get done, despite the time vanquishing
evil which is Uni.
Keep up the incredible work!!

18.01.10 was a German day.
German:
-input approximately 550 words from "Household" and "Garden" in Using German Vocabulary into Anki. Together with "Towns and Buildings," this completes Unit 1 (out of 20). Yeah! (UGV is a thick book. There are about 850 words in Unit 1, which means memorizing the entire book would yield a vocabulary of 17-18,000 words.)
-one writing sample on Lang-8: ,,Zimmerbeschreibung"
-reviewed old Anki cards
Spanish:
-one audio clip: Audiria: "Tutoría en el colegio"
-one writing sample on Lang-8: "Ejercicio: Solicitud de trabajo III"
-reviewed Anki cards
Edit: I did not like how blasé I sounded before. I am excited about my new book! So: One of my goals is to read a German book a month. Let me share which one I'm reading this month! It's ,,Geld ohne Zinsen und Inflation" ("Money without Interest or Inflation") by Margrit Kennedy, about reforming the money system. My German friend (who left today to study in NY, so sad!) is a fanatic for money reform, so I finally broke down and decided to read about it so that I can figure out what the heck he's always talking about. I'm only finishing up chapter 2 out of 9, so I'd better get a move on!

Hello, don't know if you saw my comment to you in my logbook.. so I'm repeating it here plus more :)
I wasn't sure if you would like the style of the music I recc'ed you, but the songs have some of the best poetry in them! I adore Mercedes' "Gracias a la Vida". I can definitely recommend you some more contemporary stuff though :D What kind of music do you like? I mostly listen to rock / punk type stuff but I'm sure I have other things as well :)
Wow sounds like you've picked a tough book in German! XD I'm also trying to read plenty of German books, I got a lovely stack out of the library the other day. My mission is more focussed on trying to read books from every country in the world. Sad that your friend left!!

19.01.10 was a Spanish day.
Spanish:
-reviewed Anki cards
-input another section from "Colds and Gastrointestinal Ailments" and "Chronic and Life-Threatening Disorders" in Must-Know Spanish (~50 words)
-read two articles “La pollera panameña“ and “El gaucho, habitante del campo“
-input the sentences from the first into Anki (only ~20), haha maybe I'll input sentences from the second today
-listened to a real audio clip (no transcript)--an excerpt from Caracol Radio in Colombia: "“Información de la Cruz Roja sobre Haití, Manuel Rojas, etc.“
-one writing sample on Lang-8: "Un Diálogo: Enfermedades y Padecimientos“
German:
-reviewed Anki cards
-one writing sample on Lang-8: "Schrebergärten"
I tried to switch it up today with interesting results. I don't usually watch movies (I have nothing against movies; in fact my thesis will probably be about film), but I just don't get around to as many as the rest of my family. But with my renewed zeal for Spanish, a language that is mega-easy to get subtitles for on movies, I thought, why not? So, I popped in "Blood Diamonds" (or "Diamante de Sangre" as the narrator explained, or "Diamantes Sangrientos" as the subtitles showed. I mean, do the people doing subtitles and surround sound ever get together to see if things match up?).
Well, I was not in the mood for this heavy business, so I quit after 40 minutes. Then I thought, heehee, why don't you try "L'auberge espagnole"--in Spanish! But then the Spanish voices spoke with a French accent (because the protagonist is French), and I was like, this won't work--although the accent was charming. You lucky French! A French accent in English and Spanish sounds so good. So then I really gave up and watched the first part of "Goodbye, Lenin" (German!) until I fell asleep.
