Remembering the Kanji [70/2042]

It seems like twenty kanji a day is a good number at the moment. It took a bit longer to get all twenty in my head, but right now they seem to be sticking, so I'll continue to do twenty.

Deutsch

Teach Yourself German - Lesson 1, Excercise 5 and the revision excercise.

I finished reading through Allerleirauh. All in all it was a fairly easy read, even though a fair few words still elude me. I'll be looking up all the words tomorrow and add them to my German Anki deck, then I'll read through it again. I'm going to have to look for some easy audiobooks as well, to get my listening comprehension up as well.

French

I finally received my Teach Yourself French! It seems fairly similar to the German TY, but I haven't really looked at it thoroughly yet. Tomorrow I'll be starting both Assimil and French in Action, even though I don't have the FiA workbooks.

Other ..

Yesterday we changed tv operator and I've been able to find a couple of German channels, but the best part is another channel I've been able to find. The great part of this channel is that I can switch the audio from German to French, and back again, but I can also rewind and then change it, so I can listen to a specific part in both languages. So far it's been an interesting experience!

Remembering the Kanji [80/2042]

I didn't get to enter twenty kanji today, but I managed to watch four episodes of a Japanese drama: Hana Yori Dango.

I also received Hugo's German in Three Months from 1980, it seems to be a bit more interesting than TY German, but I haven't really looking into it yet.

Yay! 100 kanji done. Onto a thousand now. I also finished watching Hana Yori Dango. I could catch a couple of words, but that's all, it was fun to watch though.

Deutsch

I read through Allerleirau again, and also through a couple of pages from one of my German archaeology books. I understood Allerleirau a lot better than my archaeology book, but I could still make out a lot of what I read.

Read through Allerleirauh for the final time, this time understanding all the vocab. I'm obviously still held back by my nearly non-existand grammer, but I'm making progress. I've also listened to, and read along with the first chapter of Harry Potter.

Français

I watched the second episode of French in Action. I'll watch it again tomorrow and then work through my digital copy of the workbooks I managed to find today. After that I'll watch the third episode and do the same routine again the day after ad neauseum.

Teach Yourself German - Read through the explanation of weak verbs and worked through the first excercise of this chapter, excercise 7.

Français

Reviewed the second video of French in action and also watched the third. I've decided to not do the workbook just yet, but I plan to do it on the second time I watch it.

This week was very busy, but not on the language front, I'm afraid. I've been able to keep up with my Anki reviews of RtK and my German words, but I've also been able to watch a tiny bit of the German Tageschau. That's about it for last week, this week, however, should be quite a bit more productive. Two days ago I received my French dictionary, and today I received my Icelandic book. Both look to be absolutely excellent, even though the Icelandic text is a bit old.

With any luck I'll receive my German dictionary tomorrow, and I've also put out an order for the German Assimil with Ease. *cheers*

I also listened to the first lesson of Pimsleur Japanese I. It was very easy, because I went through the first 5 lessons about a year ago and still remembered most of this lesson. I'll probably work through Pimsleur I before starting Assimil to give myself a bit of a grounding in the grammar and sound.

Deutsch

Heute habe ich zwei Artikeln auf Deutsche Welle gelesen. Ein war über die LHC in die Schweiz, war man erfolgreich ein Experiment mit Atomkernteilchen angefangen war. Die zweite war über ein Deutsch-Türkische Üniversität im Türkei.

Français

Ajourd'hui, je veux le quatrième leçon de "French in Action". Demain, je commencer d'apprendre l'Assimil, aussi.

P.S. Feel free to correct any mistakes, which I'm sure are plentiful.

Artikel is masculine, so "Der zweite" instead of "Die zweite" (although you probably knew
that already, considering you started with "ein" instead of "eine"). Also, its plural is
just Artikel, instead of -n.
Strangely, Türkei is feminine, so instead of im Türkei it's in der Türkei.

But don't take it from me, I'm not that great at German :)

First of all, could one of the moderators delete the spam message above this one.

Second, thanks for the advice acriter. Like I said before, I can understand quite a lot of German, but my active skills are abysmal at the moment.

I received my German dictionary, yay! And I also read another article on Deutsche Welle.

Watched the fifth video of French in Action and did the first lesson of Assimil New French with Ease.

Today I've got a day off, so I should get a lot more done!
