So the other day i picked up Assimil Spanish with Ease (1987) partly out of fun and out of curiosity over what it would be like returning to Spanish. I managed to scrape through with a C in foundation Spanish GCSE and thought it would be interesting to try it again. I also baught a copy of the book for my sister so every weekend we go through a couple of lessons, she is worried becuase having previously done some i would be "ahead" of her but im beginning to think that with my japanese learning ive slightly wired myself differently so its a bigger step to get back.
We are only up to lesson 6 and so far the lessons consist of seperate sentances with no flow between them (and much to my confusion) no literal translation.
I've yet to find a balance between studying jap/spanish, i think i work in a all or nothing sort of way, being completely focused on one thing then completely focused on the next and with the amount of japanese books and webpages and kanji i can easily do several different things in the one language.
