As soon as I get some cash, I really need to buy that book. In the meantime, thank you for another insightful post. That was very helpful. You brought a few more to light that I didnt even know about. Does that mean that jüngst doesnt belong in this category at all? |

You're welcome. :)
Jüngst isn't mentioned there, but according to my dictionary, it's another elevated synonym of vor kurzem/kürzlich. Here is an example I've come across while searching on google: "Er hat jüngst angekündigt, seinen Vorgarten fertig zu machen"

Is there any difference between 'das Dessert', 'der Nachtisch' and 'die Nachspeise'?
And what about 'das Gehalt' and 'der Lohn'?
I know that these are different but I've seen two different versions. Some say that 'Gehalt' is used for white-collar employees while 'Lohn' is reserved for blue-collar workers. Others claim that 'Gehalt' is monthly pay whereas 'Lohn' is weekly or daily pay.

IMHO, they are all pretty much the same. The only difference that I could think of is that "mindestens" is often used in legalese, user manuals etc. to specify a specific amount, while the other two are usually used figuratively.
E.g. "Welche Profiltiefe müssen die Reifen mindestens aufweisen?" (=What's the minimum tire/tyre tread depth?)
BTW, you might also encounter the incorrect form "zumindestens", which is a common typo.
See also Wiktionary.

I'd like to know whether there's a difference between 'Wange' and 'Backe', or if one term
is preferred over the other. Thank you!

wall inside??????
