Hey guys, I just want to say to all the Swedish speakers out there, you're language is THE shit. As in, so awesome I just might save up money to go on vacation to Sweden for 2 months.
Excuse me for my language, I just wanted to get that off my chest on the internet. Ok, so, I was curious to know if there is any kind of .pdf files with Swedish vocabulary or words that I can start learning and starting pronouncing etc. Thought I'd get a head start at speaking. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

I don't know about PDF's or the like, but I just bought Hugo's Swedish in 3 months on half.com for under 5 dollars. There's quite a bit of stuff on there that is relatively inexpensive, you might check it out.

There's some stuff that I didn't see in the mentioned links that might be useful. Firstly if you want an easy audiobook, I can recommend two: Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" ("Alkemisten" in swedish) is easy to read and has a great swedish audiobook. John Boyne's "The boy in the striped pyjamas" ("Pojken i randig pyjamas") is also very easy to read and has an excellent swedish audiobook. All available on bokus.com.
Since you specifically asked about PDFs of vocabulary, I must recommend http://www.swedex.info/dok/flik4/swe_alf_feb21.pdf, which is an extensive list of basic swedish words, and each one has one or more easy example sentences. I found it very helpful when I started. My favourite dictionary site is here: http://www.ord.se/oversattning/engelska/, which also has tons of examples. You may wish to also look around for "Avatar: the last airbender", an animated series with a good swedish dub available. 3 seasons x 20 half-hour episodes. 2 persons have voted this message useful |
